1951: Goal! Forfar Athletic 1-0 Forres Mechanics Forfar take the lead against Forres in their fourth-round tie.
1948: For those of you who are wondering, "glaikit-looking" isn't exactly a term of affection used by one's spouse. Anyway, to the football...
1944: Before we get down to the football, a quick funny story. My wife once worked in a bar where the Partick Thistle players would enjoy a drink and a chat after their home games. One Saturday, she answered the phone in the busy bar and was asked: "Is Jim Duffy there?" "Eh, who's that?" "He plays for Partick Thistle," said the caller. "What does he look like?" asked my wife. "He's a big baldy guy, glaikit-looking."
My wife looked up and saw a big baldy, glaikit-looking guy standing right in front of the bar. "Are you Jim Duffy?" "Aye, that's me." "Well, that's your wife on the phone."
1943: After all the tears and snotters involving St Mirren in recent days, it would be a bit unthinkable, would it not, for Brechin to knock the Buddies out the cup.
1941: St Mirren travel to the wonderful-sounding Glebe Park to play Brechin City, where Jim Duffy has just taken over as the new manager.
1940: In case you don't know, Sportscene has live coverage of St Johnstone v Rangers in the Homecoming Scottish Cup. The programme starts at 2000 on BBC One Scotland.
1933: Welcome to our live text commentary, which will try to convey the tension, drama, excitement and occasional madness that characterises Scottish football.
