Britain's Dwain Chambers has withdrawn from the 200m at the World Trials and UK Championships in Birmingham.

The 31-year-old was aiming for a sprint double but was well beaten by Simeon Williamson in Saturday's 100m final.

Chambers, ranked second in the 200m, is still likely to run both sprints at the Worlds next month having clocked the A-standard qualification time four times.

Phillips Idowu (triple jump), Jess Ennis (100m hurdles) and the women's 800m are Sunday's other highlights.

It is a not a huge shock that Chambers will be missing in Sunday's 200m event.

The 100m remains his top priority, and following his surprise defeat to Williamson by 0.17 seconds on Saturday, Chambers admitted he had been "complacent" this year.

Highlights - Williamson races to 100m title

Vowing revenge on Williamson, Chambers, previously unbeaten this summer, added: "I haven't had to fight for anything and now I do. Just because I've had a glitch I am not going to stop.

"I have had to deal with worse. The loss will give me that extra buzz to get back. I've got work to do and I'll bounce back."

Top ranked Jeffrey Lawal-Balogun is favourite for the 200m, but will face stiff competition from Olympic relay medallist Marlon Devonish, national indoor champion Leon Baptiste and Christian Malcolm, with the first semi taking place at 1747 BST.

Britain's top sprinters, including Chambers and Williamson, will go up against Olympic champion Usain Bolt at Crystal Palace in two weeks.
