Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has suggested that McLaren driver Jenson Button's driving style contributed to his crash with Sebastian Vettel at Spa. "Jenson, braking where he did, just took him completely by surprise," said Horner.

The organisers of the Belgian Grand Prix say the race may be run every other year. The Spa circuit may alternate in the F1 calendar with the nearby Nurburgring track in Germany.

F1's in-house circuit designer Hermann Tilke has insisted that the Korea Grand Prix circuit at Yeongam is on schedule to be completed in time for the 24 October race.

Niki Lauda's row with former team Ferrari appears to be coming to an end. The Austrian, who raced for the Scuderia between 1974 and 1977, has denied criticising the apparent team orders employed at Hockenheim in June. Ferrari's "Horse Whisperer" blog has declared itself "pleased".
