Diver Tom Daley should be fit for the Commonwealth Games in Dehli in October despite missing the 10m platform event at the World Youth Championships.

Daley had hoped to make his return to the platform in Arizona after a triceps injury ruled him out of both the Youth Olympics and European Championships.

But after coming only sixth in the 3m springboard last week the 16-year-old opted to miss Tuesday's platform event.

A British Swimming spokeswoman said he missed the 10m as a "precaution".

World champion Daley is part of a 13-strong English diving team for the Commonwealth Games, which start on 3 October in India.
