Australia opened their Women's World Cup campaign with a resounding 4-1 Group C win over Ghana in Hangzhou. Sarah Walsh gave Australia a first-half lead, which they stretched after the break with goals from Lisa De Vanna and Heather Garriock.
Anita Amankwa pulled one back for Ghana, but De Vanna restored the three-goal cushion for Australia.
Australia's victory came at the cost of three yellow cards, for Walsh, Kate McShea and Cheryl Salisbury.
