US Open quotes

Flushing Meadows, New York, 27 August-9 September

"Of course I'm trying to eavesdrop on his conversation with the trainers."
Andy Roddick resorts to spying tactics when Tomas Berdych feels unwell.

"I don't know exactly what's wrong. I'm not feeling really well. Before the match everything was fine."
Berdych is at a loss to explain the illness that forces him to retire against Roddick.

"No offence to Lopez but I'm kind of already preparing for Roger."
Roddick does not fancy Feliciano Lopez's chances of upsetting Roger Federer.

"I expect a lot of myself. I don't think anybody else really expects much from me."
Roddick concedes that his career record against Federer (won one, lost 13) makes him the underdog.
