Murray makes St Petersburg final

British number one Andy Murray staged a remarkable recovery to beat Russia's Mikhail Youzhny and reach the final of the St Petersburg Open.

The 20-year-old Murray won 6-2 5-7 7-6 to book a spot against either Spain's Fernando Verdasco or Croatian qualifier Marin Cilic.

Murray was 1-4 down in the third set and appeared on his way out but saved two match points at 5-3.

The Briton levelled at 5-5 and romped to a 7-1 victory in the tie-break.

Murray, the world number 16, is still on course for one of the remaining places in the season-ending Masters Cup, with next week's Masters Series tournament in Paris the last chance to earn qualifying points.

Three places remain for the Shanghai event, with Spain's David Ferrer likely to take one.
