Red Sox claim World Series glory
Boston Red Sox have won the World Series, beating Colorado Rockies 4-3 in the fourth game for a sweep in the best-of-seven series. It is the second World Series win in four seasons for the Red Sox after they beat St Louis in 2004. Before that they had to wait 86 years for a win. Veteran third baseman Mike Lowell hit a solo home run and scored twice for the Sox before becoming a free agent. It was Boston's seventh Series crown overall since it started in 1903.
