Henson 'ready for Wales recall'

Ospreys coach Lyn Jones says that centre Gavin Henson deserves to be recalled to the Welsh set-up.

Henson missed out on a place in Wales' World Cup squad after struggling with fitness and form for most of last season.

Caretaker coach Nigel Davies is due to name his squad this week and Jones feels that Henson should be included.

"I would be very surprised if he didn't come into the reckoning for the Wales squad," said Jones.

Henson has not been the same player since winning the Grand Slam with Wales in 2005.

A string of injury problems have held back the mercurial 25-year-old but Jones says that he is returning to the form of two years ago.

"He's been working hard at his game," added Jones.

"He's been out for two years through injury and suspension and there were a number of other issues.

"But he's been solid and has laid the foundations and is coming through the first period of that recovery I would say.

"He has been very constant and we have been pleased with his progress, we would like to think that there is more to come, he is aware of that.

"Whether Nigel Davies decides that he is ready for an international starting spot is Nigel's call."
