By Thomas McGuigan

1546: GOAL

Kilmarnock 1-0 Dundee United

Jamie Hamill fires the hosts in front at Rugby Park from the penalty spot.

1544: The game at Ibrox has slowed to walking pace. Rangers have this game under complete control and there's very little St Mirren can do about it.

1543: Falkirk's Michael Higdon is on a hot streak of form - that's the big striker's third goal in three games.

1541: GOAL

Hibernian 0-1 Aberdeen

Darren Mackie heads the visitors in front at Easter Road. That's his fourth league goal of the season. Can the Dons hold on for their second consecutive victory?

1539: "I haven't been blessed with thrilling encounters over the last few weeks and this game is no different." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Duffy reflects on a disappointing first half at Rugby Park

1536: GOAL

Falkirk 1-0 Motherwell

Michael Higdon takes advantage of calamitous Motherwell defending to break the deadlock at the Falkirk Stadium. That's his sixth goal of the season.

1535: "After the contrasting games against Killie and Motherwell, and now today, do we need Ferguson in the team?" ChopzUK on My Sport

1532: Sounds like a pretty humdrum game between Falkirk and Motherwell. The teams are evenly matched but goal-scoring chances have been at a premium.

1530: "There's been absolutely nothing happening in front of the goals." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Duffy must be wishing he had a good book at Rugby Park

1528: St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson cuts a forlorn figure in the dugout at Ibrox. The game has been stopped so that Will Haining can receive treatment.

The Saints rearguard have been swarming round the Rangers players like the Anthill Mob - but the Ibrox side have been too sharp for them.

1527: Over at the Falkirk Stadium, Motherwell's Sean Fitzpatrick screws a left-foot shot past the post from only six yards. That should have been 1-0 to the visitors.

1526: Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield thwarts Dean Shiels with a fantastic save. Still goalless at Easter Road.

1525: Kilmarnock goalkeeper Alan Combe spills a cross and after the ball falls to Craig Conway, the United winger fires off target.

1524: The effervescent Miller again finds himself in a great position in the six-yard box after a neat move involving Adam and Boyd, but his shot is blocked by a gaggle of Saints' defenders.

The Saints are struggling to stem the blue tide at Ibrox, the hosts are relentless!

1523: GOAL

Inverness CT 0-1 Hearts

Bruno Aguiar drills a left-foot shot past Esson after collecting Andrew Driver's pass. Hearts take the lead against the run of play.

That's his second goal of the season. His first came in the 1-1 Edinburgh derby draw at Easter Road.

1522: Pedro Mendes threads the ball through for Kenny Miller, who spins and hits a goal-bound shot which is deflected over the bar.

1521: Kilmarnock midfielder Mehdi Taouil is booked for dissent after being penalised for shoving Morgaro Gomis. Plenty of passion at Rugby Park in the opening 20 minutes, but goalscoring opportunities have been few and far between.

1520: Derek Riordan embarks on a diagonal run and flashes in a left-foot shot which hits the post and bounces clear.

1517: Inverness defender Ross Tokely heads over from inside the six-yard box that clears the crossbar. The hosts are putting Hearts under increasing pressure.

1516: There's an explosion of noise coming from the radio desk behind me. The cheers must mean there's been a Scotland try at Murrayfield. The Scots are 10-0 up!

1514: Mehdi Taouil steals the ball in midfield and shows a delightful turn before releasing the ball to David Fernandez, but he's caught offside.

1513: "Hibs defender Ian Murray thought he was aiming for the top corner of the goal, but he ended up putting it into the top corner of the stand" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson

Sounds like he should be bolstering Scotland's ranks against the Springboks at Murrayfield

1511: Andrew Driver fires in a shot that's comfortably saved by Inverness goalkeeper Ryan Esson.

1510: GOAL

Rangers 2-0 St Mirren

Steven Davis finishes a flowing move involving Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller to slide the ball past Howard. Rangers scent blood and this could be a long, long afternoon for St Mirren.

1508: St Mirren's Franco Miranda heads over the bar from inside the box as Gus MacPherson's side look to restore parity. Entertaining stuff at Ibrox so far.

1506: Kenny Miller darts through the heart of the Saints defence, rounds keeper Mark Howard and floats the ball back into the box but Mendes' downward header lacks power and the chance is gone.

1505: A quiet opening at Rugby Park as Dundee United aim to extend a run of 10 games unbeaten, while Killie are looking to arrest a sequence of five defeats.

1504: GOAL

Rangers 1-0 St Mirren

Kris Boyd collects a pass from striking partner Kenny Miller and fires home a superb shot low into the left-hand corner past the helpless Mark Howard.

That's Boyd's 10th league goal for the season.

1502: Kris Boyd plays in Charlie Adam on the edge of the Saints box but his left-foot snap-shot fizzes high and wide.

1501: Rangers striker Kenny Miller loses control in the box as the hosts look to get an early goal at Ibrox.

1500: And we're under way!

1455: "Same United line-up that played so well second half against Hibs. I would love to see the unbeaten run continue but it's going to be tough. I've gotten over-excited about United in the past and been let down badly!" siradriansmythe on My Sport

1450: "Going for a 1-0 Dons win, Mac Attack with the goal or 4-3 with a Macalamity og and Aluko with a hat-trick. Hopefully, a similar performance to Hearts but with a win." Tux789 on My Sport

1436: More team news from Ibrox. Allan McGregor IS fit to play against St Mirren. BBC Scotland's Chick Young rectifies his earlier mistake!

1435: "See 1411: don't worry about Weir - to still be playing his fitness isn't really as much of a question. I'd question McCulloch's fitness before weir's. but the point is well made - rangers have little in backup defenders." GlasgowJambo1987 on My Sport

1414: Lee McCulloch has not played for Rangers since 16 August, when he played in the 2-0 win over Hearts. Today's surprise inclusion in the Rangers defence is his first appearance since announcing his retirement from international football.

1411: "Lee McCulloch alongside Weir? Will be ok today but are Rangers really that bereft of defenders? Weir could go out any time at his age, then what?" FiferJim on My Sport

1405: "Gers need to start using wide men if they want to keep up with the tic in the league. Trying to go thru the middle of a packed defence is nonsense. Change tactics now or forget about the league" Snashmac on My Sport

1400: TEAM NEWS

"Rangers defender Sasa Papac has failed a fitness test and will be replaced at left-back by Steven Whittaker. Charlie Adam comes into the side and Lee McCulloch will play alongside David Weir in central defence" BBC Scotland pundit Chick Young

Well Rangers and St Mirren fans, any thoughts on that early team news from Ibrox?

1352: "Aberdeen to win 2-1. Aluko to put in another great performance." DenzilVoorhes

Time will tell, mate. Aluko was certainly Mr Cool when he scored Aberdeen's second on Wednesday night.

1349: "C'mon The Dandies. Let's show these SPL teams how to win "ugly" as quoted by the Tango-man himself!" ChookterDon on My Sport

Your boys need to follow up the win over St Mirren with another good performance at Easter Road.

1346: "Rangers 4-0 today. Boydchenko hat-trick" TheRealWYP on My Sport

Boyd must be confident of adding to his nine league goals when he faces St Mirren at Ibrox today. Interesting to hear Rangers manager Walter Smith say he expects Kyle Lafferty to play as a striker.

But Kenny Miller seems to be establishing a sound partnership with Boyd. When should the former Burnley man be given his chance to shine?

1335: Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has challenged his players to show the same desire against Falkirk today that saw them secure a point against Rangers in midweek.

Well's visit to Falkirk today should be a cracker! Any predictions? I'm going for 1-1 in the BBC predictor league.

1320: Good afternoon one and all! It's Saturday and once again SPL fever is sweeping the nation. We've got five games to get our football juices going.

Rangers have the chance to close the gap on SPL leaders Celtic to a point if they can overcome St Mirren at Ibrox.

Hibernian are looking for their first league win in six attempts and manager Mixu Paatelainen will be demanding an improvement when his side take on Aberdeen at Easter Road.

Inverness can close the gap on fourth-placed Hearts with victory over the Jambos and Kilmarnock host high-flying Dundee United - with Craig Levein's men undefeated in 10 games.

Falkirk entertain Motherwell in our fifth fixture and here's hoping for goals and incidents aplenty!

Any predictions for today's games? Feel free to offer your pearls of wisdom here: My Sport and via text on 80295
