The world of golf wouldn’t be complete without Callaway golf clubs. These high quality clubs are manufactured by Callaway Golf Company, a sporting goods company that is based in California. This company was founded by Ely Callaway, Jr. who is a golf enthusiast himself.

Before Callaway Golf was founded, Ely Callaway, Jr. used clubs made by a company called Hickory Sticks. This company that sold clubs manufactured from hickory sticks and steel was owned by Richard Parente and Dick Dela Cruz. When the company’s funds started to become low, they looked for companies and individuals who were willing to invest in their company. It was then that they approached Mr. Callaway. Being a businessman himself (he owned Burlington Textiles), he saw the huge potential of Hickory Sticks. So he bought half of the company in 1982, but eventually bought all of it in 1984. He renamed the company Callaway Golf Company in 1988.

Since Mr. Callaway became the president of Callaway Golf, its reputation in the golf industry grew by leaps and bounds. Even today, they are still recognized as an authority when it comes to manufacturing high quality golf equipment especially the Callaway golf clubs. This company is known for their:

1. State-of-the-Art Production Facility and Equipment

At the start of Mr. Callaway’s presidency, he ensured that this company will only employ the best in technology when manufacturing their golf clubs. In 1986, he hired Richard Helmstetter as a consultant. Mr. Helmstetter used his knowledge and experience as a billiard cue designer introduced the use of computer-controlled machines. The same year he was hired, the company released Big Bertha driver which they manufactured using their new machines.

They have invested a huge amount of resources for putting up a 225,000 sq ft production facility. This effort shows their ongoing commitment for perfection.

2. Innovative Features and Designs

This company aims to continuously come up with innovative designs for their clubs. Aside from the Big Bertha driver which they developed in 1986, they have also come up with other clubs that have innovative features and designs. They continuously find ways to manufacture golf clubs that are strong and durable, and will make playing golf a pleasure for golfers. There is surely a driver for every golfer at any skill level.
