1845: It's a safe bet Liverpool fans will be keeping a close eye on events at the Artemio Franchi tonight, as Fiorentina meet Lyon. A win for the Italians puts the Reds out - whether they win in the Ferenc Puskas Stadium or not. If Fiorentina draw and Liverpool win, Rafa Benitez's team would then need to beat the team from Florence 3-0 when they meet at Anfield in two weeks' time. If Liverpool don't beat Debrecen, they are out.
1842: Get involved via the usual methods:
you can Twitter me up,
there's
a 606 thread to boot
and the texts are already coming in to 81111, the magic number. Fill your boots.
1837: By the way, they are back under way in the second half at Central Stadium in Kazan as Rubin - who retained their Russian crown on Saturday - take on Dynamo Kiev in a crucial Group F encounter. It's still 0-0 and it's snowing like crazy.
1835: Another big night of European football on the way.
Liverpool meet Hungarian champions Debrecen,
Arsenal host Standard Liege
and
Rangers entertain Stuttgart,
with the British teams all in very different positions in their respective groups. Kick-offs at 1945 GMT.
1830: Just when you think football can't get any more insane,
Jermain Defoe and Spurs go goal-crazy,
Arsene Wenger lashes out in a World Cup-based rant,
England's 2018 World Cup bid threatens to completely fall apart
and
Portsmouth predictably yet ridiculously part company with manager Paul Hart.
I'd like to see someone do better. Oh and tonight, holders Barcelona and five-time champions Liverpool could be dumped out of the Champions League.
