England's women scrambled two runs off the final ball to pull off a thrilling win in the first of three Twenty20 matches against India in Mumbai.
Needing one run to secure a draw, Nicky Shaw held her nerve to hit two runs and help England scrape home on 126-8.
Charlotte Edwards began England's chase with 28 and Jenny Gunn hit 34 off 24 balls but was one of two batters out at the start of the dramatic final over.
Earlier, in-form Mithali Raj top-scored with 30 in India's total of 125-5.
England's bowlers restricted India to 69-2 at the halfway stage of the innings and when captain Edwards had Raj stumped by Tamsin Beaumont, England looked on control.
This is great preparation for the World Cup in May. We really want to win the series out here

Edwards got England off to a steady start but her side lost wickets at regular intervals.
Gunn, who hit the game's only six, produced a useful stand of 40 off 31 balls, the highest partnership of the match, with Danielle Hazell.
But when Gunn was caught in the penultimate over, England, on 122-8, needed the composure of Shaw to clinch victory.
A single off the last ball would have left scores level, meaning a 'super over' would be required to settle the contest, but Shaw managed to see her side home.
Edwards said: "We were confident going into the game, the Twenty20 format really suits the young team we have out here.
"This is great preparation for the World Cup in May. We really want to win the series out here."
England, who lost the one-day series 3-2, will play the second Twenty20 game against India at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai on Saturday.
