Nine-time Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova says she is as 'good as new' following recent treatment for breast cancer.

Navratilova was diagnosed with cancer in February and underwent surgery in March followed by radiation treatment.

"My radiation finished two weeks ago and I'm as good as new," the 53-year-old told BBC Sport on Saturday.

The 18-time Grand Slam winner is set to play in the Wimbledon Ladies' Invitation Doubles final on Sunday.

The Prague-born former champion will team up with Jana Novotna to take on Helena Sukova and Andrea Temesvari in the final on Court One at 2pm.

Navratilova, whose cancer was detected by a routine mammogram, played in the French Open legends' doubles in June.

The four-time US Open champion also plans to mark her return to health by keeping to a long-term plan to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Navratilova will lead a team of 28 climbers up the mountain in December to raise money for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

"That was the plan before and it's still the plan," she added. "I can't wait to get back to Africa."
