"With Trescothick missing this winter, it would have been a great opportunity for Mal Loye to show the selectors what he can do. But the Lancashire physio will be working hard to get him fit for the final"
England and Warwickshire spinner Ashley Giles on BBC Five Live Sports Extra

1111: It's all go here today - I'll be keeping you posted with the first semi-final, before Sam Lyon takes over for Kent-Sussex and the final. Twenty20 finals day is naturally hectic, but we'll still try to squeeze in the occasional e-mail from you. But remember, if you're off to the beach or anywhere else, you can still keep track of all the action on your phone or PDA.

"Hopefully there should be some swing for me and Carl Greenidge early on"
Gloucestershire captain Jon Lewis on BBC Five Live Sports Extra

1106: An early blow for Lancs - hard-hitting opener Mal Loye has suffered a back injury in the nets and is ruled out, which means Chilton is playing - he would have dropped himself if Loye had played. But ex-England seamer Dominic Cork plays despite a hip problem.

1105: Gloucestershire captain Jon Lewis wins the toss and elects to field first, while Lancs skipper Mark Chilton says he would have batted anyway. Teams as we get them.

"Andrew Flintoff, wearing a day-glo vest over a navy blue hoody, is not taking the most active role in Lancashire's pre-match drills. A steel band is playing and the clouds are beginning to frazzle away. Let the games commence!"
BBC Sport's Oliver Brett, our man at Edgbaston

1056: The order of play today is this. First up, we have Lancashire v Gloucestershire at 1130. Then, it's Sussex v Kent at 1500 - followed by the grand final at 1905.

"The grey clouds around - not rain-bearing ones, we are promised - break to reveal a curious Gloucestershire warm-up routine. The most recognisable character is Hamish Marshall, with his bouffant curls peaking out beneath his cap. The ground is almost half full, and one fan opening up his newspaper is wisely applying the factor 25"
BBC Sport's Oliver Brett, our man at Edgbaston

1050: A very good morning. If you're a fan of Lancashire, Gloucestershire, Kent or Sussex, it's eyes down for the fab'n'groovy Twenty20 Finals Day.
