Fifth Test, Trinidad (day one):
West Indies v England 258-2 (close)

England will look to build towards a substantial first innings total when day two of the fifth Test against West Indies gets under way at 1400 GMT.

Andrew Strauss (139no) and Paul Collingwood (54no) return to the crease having forged an unbeaten 102-run stand as England reached 258-2 on day one.

England, who won the toss and opted to bat first, lost Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen but have much batting left.

The tourists must win in Trinidad to draw the five-match series.

1345: Might be an idea to keep fingers crossed in a Shah-style rictus that today's play is a little spicier than Friday's. I'm not saying Dirsy was bored, but when I came in earlier he was still sitting motionless at his desk, mouth agape, staring into the distance like a Vietnam vet.
