Marquez has won the Champions League with Barcelona twice
|
Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez has trained with Mexico for the first time since injuring his right leg in last week's 2-1 friendly victory over Italy.
It was Mexico's first practice session with every player present since the team arrived in South Africa.
Mexico opens the World Cup on Friday against the hosts, with its Federation president Justino Compean admitting the squad is "nervous but confident".
Mexico has played more warm-up matches to prepare for the tournament than any of the other 31 teams.
United States striker Robbie Findley has warned England they can cause them problems "all over the pitch" in Saturday's opening group C match in Rustenburg.
Findley and Edson Buddle impressed as a forward combination during the United State's 3-1 win over Australia in their final warm-up international - but Findley believes England will also have to contend with threats from elsewhere.
"It is not just up front, it is all over," he said. If the midfield get an opportunity, they can put goals away as well."
Defender Jerome Boateng has stressed that Germany are "a tournament team" and cannot be discounted as potential World Cup winners.
In a strange quirk of fate Boateng, who is set to move from Hamburg to Manchester City, could play against half-brother Kevin-Prince in group D after the Portsmouth midfielder opted to represent Ghana - the nation of the brothers' father Prince.
"We played before in Berlin against each other," said the 21-year-old. "I'm happy about the game."
