Experienced fly-half Carter returns for New Zealand

Fly-half Dan Carter has been named in the All Blacks team to face Australia in Saturday's Bledisloe Cup Test.

Carter has recovered from ankle surgery to play in the Hong Kong game, winger Joe Rokocoko replaces Israel Dagg while Jimmy Cowan is named at scrum-half.

Australia prop Ben Alexander (knee) and winger Drew Mitchell (hamstring) have recovered from their injuries.

Both sides face British opposition on 6 November, with New Zealand playing England and Wales hosting Australia.

Wallabies head coach Robbie Deans said: "It's great to see Ben back after what's been a pretty frustrating period for him."

Australia are looking to end a record run of 10 consecutive losses to New Zealand, the last time the Wallabies secured victory was in July 2008.

All Blacks coach Graham Henry has also brought in blind-side flanker Jerome Kaino at the expense of the non-touring Victor Vito in one of four changes to the side that beat the Wallabies 23-22 in Sydney last month.

That victory completed a Tri-Nations clean sweep over Australia.

Henry said: "Australia will again present a massive challenge for the All Blacks and we have picked an All Blacks starting side that has done outstandingly well this year.

"This Test is a very important one for the team who are keen to get the Tour off to a good start, and, like all trans-Tasman matches, it will be another huge encounter."

The team will once again be led by captain Richie McCaw who will play in his 90th Test, as will full-back Mils Muliaina.

Cowan is given the number nine jersey after Piri Weepu broke his leg during Wellington's ITM Cup win over Taranaki earlier this month.

This is the second time a Bledisloe Cup Test has been played in Hong Kong, which is best known for its annual rugby sevens tournament.

They also played at Hong Kong Stadium in November 2008, when the All Blacks beat Australia 19-14.
