Howard celebrates his dramatic late winner
|
Steve Howard's towering injury-time header sunk play-off chasing Leeds United and took Leicester to the brink of automatic promotion from League One.
Howard powered in Max-Alain Gradel's corner, meaning the Foxes will go up if MK Dons fail to beat Bristol Rovers.
Andy King and Howard went close early on while Leeds almost led when a poor punch by David Stockdale hit the bar.
The Foxes were on top after the break and Matt Fryatt and Howard could have won it before Howard's superb header.
Howard's winner was a cruel blow to the visitors who played their part in an enthralling game.

Both sides threatened from set-pieces in the first period and that continued after the break with Richard Naylor and Sam Sodje both going close with headed chances for the visitors.
Naylor saw his effort well blocked by Stockdale and Sodje sent an effort inches wide.
But Nigel Pearson's side created the better opportunities and keeper Casper Ankergren twice made fines saves from Andy King, the second after a fine lay-off from Howard.
The excellent Lloyd Dyer also teed up Matt Fryatt and Howard also had two good headed chances from corners before his dramatic late winner.
