Brazilian Gilberto leaves Spurs

Gilberto
Gilberto began at Sao Caetano then played 101 games for Hertha Berlin.

Tottenham's Brazilian defender Gilberto has left the club after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The 33-year-old joined from Hertha Berlin in January 2008 but failed to impress and made only 10 appearances.

Other developments at White Hart Lane saw Troy Archibald-Henville join Exeter for six months and keeper Ben Alnwick move to Norwich on a three-month loan.

England Under-21 midfielder Danny Rose has been linked with a short-term move to Championship side Sheffield United.

Spurs have agreed a deal with the Blades to loan players following the double purchase of defenders Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker from the Bramall Lane club.
