The loss of Buderus will be a big blow to the Rhinos
|
Leeds hooker Danny Buderus faces six weeks in plaster after fracturing his tibia in Friday's 28-10 loss to Wigan.
The former Australia captain, 31, was carried off in the second half after a collision with Wigan's Andy Coley.
After the plaster is taken off he will begin a period of rehabilitation, the length of which will be decided when specialists have looked at the damage.
With the Grand Final 11 weeks away, Buderus may face a race against time to play again this season.
This is a second major injury blow for Buderus this season, after his debut for the Rhinos was delayed when he tore a bicep muscle before he even arrived at the club.

"We are all disappointed for Danny especially as he has been playing so well, " said head coach Brian McClennan, speaking about the new injury.
"However, he will receive the best possible treatment from our medical staff and they will have him back as soon as he is fully fit.
"We have got him seen by the specialist at the earliest opportunity and now the hard work starts for Danny to get back to action.
"Every team suffers injuries during the course of a season which is why you need a strong squad and we have every confidence as a group that we can continue to build towards the play-offs starting next Saturday against Warrington."
