PITTSBURGH -- Freshman quarterback Pat Bostick will return to Pitt's preseason football camp on Tuesday, his father and coach Dave Wannstedt said.
Bostick left the team Aug. 6 to deal with an undisclosed personal issue, Wannstedt said.
"Pat has indicated that he plans on returning Tuesday morning," the coach said Monday. "We certainly hope that's the case."
Bostick is Pitt's top recruit and a likely challenger for a starting job this season. He threw for 7,259 yards during his career at Manheim Township High near Lancaster.
Pat Bostick Sr. said he did not know whether his son will practice right away.
"I know he's going to be there; whether he'll be in pads or not, I don't know," he said. "But he'll definitely be there."
The Panthers have two practices Tuesday -- a morning workout in shoulder pads and shorts, and their first intrasquad scrimmage in the afternoon.
