Hewitt 3-2 Delic
Delic is not unlike his sometime doubles partner John Isner in that he's got a big serve. He's also got a massive forehand but not much else to write home about. Still he's keeping in touch - which is more than can be said for you lot. I need texts and 606 messages. And fast.

Hewitt 3-1 Delic
Hewitt's bossing this. The Aussie moves beautifully to get back to a smash before rocketing the ball cross-court. Easy.

1622: Look! A text! From Chris ! "Looks like Delic is not as Delic-ious as we might have thought!" says Chris. (Did anyone think he was Delic-ious? Thought not.)

Hewitt 2-1 Delic
Here's a fact to kick us off: Delic hasn't won a match since Wimbledon. But let's now write him off just yet - the American's big serve has just got him on the board.

Hewitt 2-0 Delic
If you're reading this on the website, you'll see a link to your right to Amer Delic's official site. Yes, that's right, the world number 71 does warrant one apparently. This ropey start from the American means I estimate we have an hour and a half to learn all there is to know about Amer before he's off.

Hewitt 1-0 Delic
Oh dear. Delic saves two break points with a couple of fine forehands but then he ruins all his good work by slicing a backhand wide and Hewitt's a break up already.

1610 BST: Good start for Delic. He wins the toss and will serve first.

1600 BST: Lleyton Hewitt, the 2001 champion, kicks off proceedings on Arthur Ashe Stadium on Tuesday against 25-year-old American Amer Delic. Is anyone out there expecting Delic to cause an upset? Let me know via text on 81111 or on 606 .
