First set:

Murray 0-1 Bjorkman Nice simple hold for the Swedish veteran, see I've done it again. He only drops the one point and has a steady start in the stiffling heat of New York.

1606: I don't know how much I can concentrate on this game. I have just seen a news report from California on scientists that have developed a sky car. Brilliant. The players are out on court and have just finished their warm-up routines. It is bright sunshine in New York and Bjorkman will serve first. Let us know your thoughts on the game or give us your inventions that could revolutionise the world on 606 or by text.

1556: Murray thrashed qualifier Pablo Cuevas in the first round and showed no signs of the wrist injury that has troubled him since May. Bjorkman had an equally easy time against Juan Pablo Guzman, and showed no signs of the forgetfulness or loss of bladder control that must surely be affecting him these days.

1548: Andy Murray is about to take on Jonas Bjorkman, who is these days always referred to as 'Swedish veteran Jonas Bjorkman'. He's 35. The pair have never played each other before but their games should match up well for Murray, who enjoys having a target at the net to pass.
