Denmark women beat NZ

Goals from Katrine Pedersen and Cathrine Paaske Sorensen helped Denmark to beat New Zealand 2-0 - the Danes' first victory of the Women's World Cup.

Pedersen opened the scoring on the hour, firing into the top left corner after pouncing on the ball from a parry by New Zealand keeper Jenny Bindon.

Sorensen added another when she nodded in a free-kick from Pedersen.

And Sorensen went close on a further two occasions for the Danes, striking the crossbar and heading narrowly over.
