Ireland concern over O'Driscoll

Brian O'Driscoll is an injury worry for Ireland ahead of Saturday's World Cup game against Georgia.

The Irish skipper injured an elbow late in the 32-17 victory over Namibia on Sunday in Bordeaux.

"Brian just hyper-extended his elbow and it seems to be more of a trapped nerve problem than anything else," said coach Eddie O'Sullivan.

Fly-half Ronan O'Gara (foot) and prop Marcus Horan (ribs) picked up minor knocks in the Pool D opener.

O'Sullivan added: "I think we're going to let Ronan and Marcus settle down. Their injuries don't seem to be too serious."

O'Driscoll emerged for Sunday's post-match press conference with his right arm in a sling.

Ireland top the group despite a disappointing performance against the African minnows.

O'Sullivan will name his line-up on Tuesday for the second pool game in Paris this weekend.
