V Williams 0-1 Ivanovic
Good start for Ivanovic. Venus is standing inside the baseline to receive serve, but the Serb's nerve holds up.

2046: Players are out warming up, Venus wearing a very nice green dress. There's only one winner in the fashion war between the two sisters for me and that's Venus. Serena's a bit too wacky for me. Anyway, Ivanovic serves first.

2040: "Wimbledon happened on grass, giving Venus a clear advantage. Here it's much more evenly matched."

2035: Venus beat Ivanovic 6-2 6-4 in the semi-finals on her way to the Wimbledon title earlier this year. That gave her a 3-0 head-to-head lead.

2030: I'm going for Venus in straight sets here. She's been in decent form in New York and I think her experience will count. Anyone care to disagree? Let me know on 606 or via text on 81111 .

2025: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga slaps a forehand into the net as a dominant Rafael Nadal wraps up a 7-6 6-2 6-1 win on Arthur Ashe Stadium court. David Ferrer, who beat David Nalbandian in five sets, next for the world number two. Venus and Ivanovic are next on Arthur Ashe.
