The creators, the catalysts, the inspirations. Fly-halves set the tone for any rugby union team.

They are the heart and soul of a team's attacking and defensive play, dictating tactics and implementing gameplans.

Number 10s should have it all, speed of thought, vision, tactical nous, the pass to release a backline, a well-honed kicking game and increasingly, a defensive work-rate to match any back-row forward.

The following eight players are the creative hubs of their respective teams and their displays in France will be a major factor in deciding who wins the Webb Ellis trophy.
