No injury worries for Springboks

South Africa v Argentina
Sunday, 14 August
Stade de France, Paris
Kick-off: 2000 BST

South Africa flanker Juan Smith says he will be fit and available for selection for Sunday's World Cup semi-final with Argentina despite a muscle injury.

Smith was the only squad member to miss training on Wednesday but insisted it was not a major cause for concern.

"I got a bump on my quad, but I'll be back on Friday. It'll be an awesome game," he said.

Bismarck du Plessis and CJ van der Linde are fit to play after missing the quarter-final win over Fiji.

Coach Jake White gave the front row duo an extra week off to recover from injuries to keep them fresh for what is likely to be a fearsome forward match-up.

"Both CJ and Bismarck are now on the way to full recovery and will be ready to play in the semi-final," he said.

"We decided against using them in the quarter-final as it was too risky.

"We saw how playing injured players can have a negative impact in some of the other quarter-finals, and in the end I faced a difficult situation where either way I might lose.

Number eight Danie Rossouw is also training again after being hit in a high tackle from Fiji's Seremia Bai which earned the fly-half a one-match ban.

"We played three times against island teams and every time was a physical battle and Argentina is the same," Rossouw said.

"They play with a lot of passion, they are very physical and we are expecting that on the day. We must be ready for that."
