The Utah Jazz will have to wait a while longer for All-Star forward Carlos Boozer to return.
According to a report in the Deseret Morning News, Boozer will not travel with the team on its upcoming three-game preseason road trip.
"After that, I don't know," said Kevin O'Connor, the team's executive director of basketball operations. "It's got to be his call."
Boozer's year-old son Carmani is recovering in Miami from a bone-marrow transplant related to his battle with sickle cell anemia. Boozer missed all of the team's preseason camp in Boise and Utah's preseason opener, a 90-81 loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Even if the All-Star forward were to join up with the Jazz on the road, coach Jerry Sloan said he would not play Boozer before he had a chance to practice.
Boozer averaged 20.9 ppg and 11.7 rpg as Utah made it to the West finals for the first time in nearly 10 years.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
