Leon Pryce says victory in Saturday's Super League Grand Final would mean more than winning the Challenge Cup.

The St Helens star plays in his seventh Grand Final but told Radio 5live the occasion had lost none of its magic.

"When you play in the Cup final it's something you've been dreaming of doing since you were eight or nine," he said.

"If you lose the Cup final you lose one game but if you lose the Grand Final you're second for the whole season so it means a little bit more."

Pryce will be aiming to claim his fifth Grand Final winners' medal when St Helens take on Leeds at Old Trafford.

He won with Bradford in 2001, 2003 and 2005 before helping Saints win it in 2006. He was also a loser with the Bulls in 1999 and 2002.

"I never get sick of playing in Grand Finals, it's something you work towards all year," said the versatile Yorkshireman.

"It'll be my seventh in 10 years, but every one is just as special as the first. It's the game everyone wants to play in. I'll look back on my career and it's something I'll be really proud of."

Pryce has a year left on his current contract with Saints and admits to being curious about trying his luck in rugby union at some point in the future.

But the 26-year-old, whose younger brother, Karl, is now in union with Gloucester, has says he has more to achieve before he thinks about life beyond Knowsley Road.

"I think I've improved ten-fold this year, that comes from playing with the playing staff, coaching staff and fans here," he said.

"It's a special place to be, I just want to keep improving and learning.

"I'd like to have a crack at union one day, if not next season then maybe in three or four seasons, but in the mean time I'm very happy at Saints.

"If we can get a deal sorted out that suits both parties, that would be my priority.

"In the immediate future I definitely want to be at Saints, I couldn't be more happy."
