Fulham 2-2 Blackburn

A flurry of second-half goals saw Blackburn twice come from behind to clinch a draw at Craven Cottage.

Fulham took the lead five minutes after the break when a Danny Murphy penalty after Diomansy Kamara was brought down by Ryan Nelson in the box.

But Brett Emerton levelled from close range six minutes later before Kamara again put the hosts ahead, sliding the ball in from four yards out.

With just over 10 minutes left, Stephen Warnock tapped in to seal the draw.

The result again showed Fulham's tendency to let in late goals from winning positions, with the Cottagers having now scored first eight times in the Premier League this season but only having gone on to win once.

Sunday's clash at Craven Cottage had to wait until after the interval to truly come alive as the first half was overshadowed by Benni McCarthy's injury blow just moments into the match.

Blackburn's top-scorer, with five league goals this season, was caught by a lunging challenge from Dejan Stefanovic that struck him across the right knee.

Forced into an early substitution, Rovers boss Mark Hughes, who agreed a contract extension at Ewood Park this week, brought on Jason Roberts for the injured McCarthy but saw his shell-shocked team cancelled out by the hosts in a non-descript first half.

David Bentley tried to argue a penalty in the 11th minute when he was taken down by Dejan Stefanovic but was carded for diving.

He also came close later when he failed to get on the end of Steven Warnock's cross from the left which whizzed across the face of goal, while at the other end Camara saw his shot blocked in a one-on-one with Rovers keeper Brad Friedel.

However, this dogged match burst into life just five minutes after the break as Nelsen brought down Kamara in the box and referee Mike Dean pointed to the spot.

Veteran midfielder Murphy made no mistake, slotting away into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

Six minutes later, great work from Steven Warnock down the left saw his cross nodded on by Roberts for Emerton to fire home.

Fulham again went ahead when Kamara slid in Simon Davies' pass from the right wing.

But the Cottagers showed why they have squandered 13 points from winning positions this season when Warnock snatched the draw for Blackburn, tapping in from close range after great work from Roberts.
