India wrap up Delhi Test victory

FIRST TEST, Delhi (day five): India 276 & 171-3 beat Pakistan 231 & 247 by six wickets

India knocked off the 32 runs needed on the final morning to seal a six-wicket win over Pakistan in the first Test.

The tireless Shoaib Akhtar (4-58) snared Sourav Ganguly (48) with 22 runs still needed but Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman guided the hosts to victory.

The players now move from Delhi to Calcutta and then Bangalore for the last two Tests in the series.

India are in prime position now to secure their first home Test series win over Pakistan since 1979-80.
