Moyes is hit with FA charge

The Football Association has charged Everton manager David Moyes with improper conduct.

Moyes has been charged for comments he made about referee mark Clattenburg after his side's 2-1 defeat by Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

Everton had two players sent off in that game and were denied a late penalty after Joleon Lescott appeared to be brought down by Jamie Carragher.

Moyes now has until 11 December to respond to the charge.

The FA has taken action over comments from Moyes after the game and in a news conference a week later.

"It is alleged that the comments made referring to referee Mark Clattenburg on each respective occasion amount to improper conduct as they call into question Mr Clattenburg's integrity and/or imply that Mr Clattenburg was motivated by bias," said the FA.
