Champions League, Group D
Date: Tuesday, 4 December
Kick-off: 1945 GMT

Listen: BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Scotland (810 MW) Updates: BBC Sport website and mobile

AC Milan will be without striker Ronaldo, who aggravated an injury while warming up at Benfica last week.

Left-backs Marek Jankulovski and Serginho are injured so Daniele Bonera will likely start in defence.

Celtic are missing defenders Lee Naylor, John Kennedy, Mark Wilson and Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe.

Playmaker Shunsuke Nakamura is also injured, while manager Gordon Strachan must decide to stick with two strikers or add Massimo Donati to midfield.

BIG MATCH STATS

Qualification

AC Milan have qualified for the last 16 and need only a draw in their last match to win Group D.

Celtic need only a draw to advance to the knock-out stage. A defeat will only harm them, if Shakhtar Donetsk win their last match.

Head-to-heads

These sides have met seven times before. AC Milan have won three and Celtic have won once.

Celtic's victory came in the reverse fixture on 3 October, when Scott McDonald slotted home the winner in the last minute of a 2-1 success. Milan keeper Dida was nudged by a fan who had entered the pitch. The Brazilian then feigned injury and was suspended for one match by Uefa.

European history

Last year, Celtic reached the last 16 of the CL and were knocked out by AC Milan (0-0, 1-0 AET).

Milan are the defending champions, having beaten Liverpool in the final (2-1). No team has successfully defended the trophy in Champions League history.

Current European form

Celtic have not won a European away match since 13 August 2003, when they defeated MTK Budapest 0-4 in Hungary. It was the Scottish champions' only victory in 15 attempts on their CL travels.

AC Milan have won their last three CL home matches, and are undefeated in five.

Player and disciplinary info

Clarence Seedorf is on 99 Champions League matches (11 for Ajax, 25 for Real Madrid and 63 for AC Milan). He is about to become the seventh centurion.

Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati played at AC Milan for one season. In 2001-02, he made 17 Serie A appearances for the rossoneri.

Kaka, Andrea Pirlo, Gennaro Gattuso and Alessandro Nesta have played every minute of AC Milan's five group matches, while Artur Boruc, Gary Caldwell, Paul Hartley and Stephen McManus have matched that for Celtic.

Other miscellaneous facts

AC Milan drew 0-0 with Juventus in the Serie A on Saturday, extending their home winless streak to a club record nine. They are eighth in the table.

Celtic drew 1-1 with Hearts, and lead Rangers by one point at the top of the SPL.
