Allardyce buoyed after home draw

Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce admitted feeling "relieved" after his team's 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday lifted the pressure on him.

Allardyce's position had been open to question, while there had been rumours of player unrest at the club.

"After what the last few results have brought, I'm relieved," said Allardyce. "It does take the pressure off. We'd lost our last two home games poorly.

"We have to build on this performance and get more results and points."
