ATLANTA -- The Coca-Cola Co., the world's largest beverage maker, said Friday it has extended for another 10 years a partnership with NASCAR that allows it to use the auto racing body's name and logo in its advertising.
Financial terms of the deal between the Atlanta-based company and NASCAR were not disclosed.
The new deal extends a 10-year deal between the two sides that was to expire this year, Coca-Cola spokeswoman Susan Stribling said. The new deal runs through 2017.
Besides using the NASCAR name and logo in its marketing, the deal also allows Coca-Cola to describe its different soft drink and water brands as the official nonalcoholic drinks of NASCAR, Stribling said.
The extension of the company's partnership with NASCAR follows a deal announced in July that will give Coca-Cola the exclusive soft drink and water marketing and pouring rights at 10 racetracks by 2012.
