The FA may wait until they have appointed a new England manager before making a decision on the game. The match against Switzerland will be the 20th time the two countries have met, with England winning 12, drawing four and losing three of the encounters. The most recent meeting was a 3-0 win in Coimbra, Portugal, during the group stage of Euro 2004, when Wayne Rooney scored twice - his first England goals in a competitive fixture. Switzerland have not played in England since a 1-1 draw in the opening match of Euro 96, when Alan Shearer was on target.
