Tharanga comes in for Jayasuriya

Upul Tharanga will replace the retired Sanath Jayasuriya for the second Test against England in Colombo from Sunday.

Tharanga will open with Michael Vandort, and with no extra batsmen added to the squad Jehan Mubarak will keep his place in the middle order.

Captain Mahela Jayawardene said: "The middle order is a bit of concern, but we have to be fair to the youngsters and give them a decent run."

Muttiah Muralitharan was likely to remain the sole spinner, he added.

"The bowling combination will depend on the pitch but knowing the Sinhalese Sports Club it will probably be three seamers and Murali."
