Darcheville scored goals in 30 league outings for Rangers last season
Rangers striker Jean-Claude Darcheville is holding talks with French top-flight club Valenciennes about a move during the January transfer window.
The Scottish Premier League club have confirmed that the 33-year-old visited VA's facilities and met club directors.
Valenciennes president Francis Decourriere told the La Voix du Nord newspaper: "It would be a great reinforcement for us."
Decourrie thought that Darcheville was enthusiastic about the move.
"I have a lot of hope for this," said the president of the side in Ligue 1's relegation zone after Darcheville's visit on Tuesday.
Valenciennes have scored just 14 goals in 18 matches and are in desperate need of an experienced goalscorer.
Darcheville joined Rangers from Bordeaux in 2007, having previously played for Rennes, Nottingham Forest and Lorient.
Injuries have hampered him this season, scoring just once in 10 appearances.
But he scored 12 goals in 30 league outings for the Glasgow side last term.
