Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham will learn their potential quarter-finals paths when the Uefa Cup last 32 draw is held on Friday.
Portsmouth were the only English club not to make it through the group stage.
Russian holders Zenit St Petersburg are back into the competition following their Champions League elimination.
The draw will also be made for the last 16 of the competition on Friday, with AC Milan, for whom David Beckham could appear, among the teams lying in wait.
Galatasaray, Dynamo Kiev, Hamburg and Ajax are also in the draw.

Along with eastern European powerhouses Zenit and Kiev, Bordeaux, Werder Bremen, Shakhtar Donetsk, Marseille, Aalborg and Fiorentina are also involved after they too finished third in their four-team Champions League groups.
