New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram will miss the second Test against the West Indies due to a lingering calf strain.
The 30-year-old was a late withdrawal for the first drawn Test and will now prepare for the Twenty20 and one-day internationals which follow the Tests.
Meanwhile, Ross Taylor and James Franklin are suffering with injuries to their finger and ribs respectively.
Peter Fulton and Chris Martin will act as cover in case they do not recover in time for the start of play on Thursday.
