Falkirk midfielder Russell Latapy has travelled to the Carribean to finalise details on a new coaching role with Trinidad and Tobago.
The 40-year-old is expected to join Francisco Maturana's technical staff within the next few days.
Falkirk head coach John Hughes said: "It's a full-time post and he'll be leaving. He's been a wonderful asset. I can't speak highly enough of him."
The former Hibs and Rangers player has spent 10 years in Scottish football.
Hughes, who has described Latapy as one of the most gifted players he has worked with, added: "I'm sure our supporters will wish him all the best. They have many memories."
Earlier this season, Falkirk held a special 'Russell Latapy day' at the league match against Hibernian to give both sets of fans the opportunity to pay tribute to the player as he turned 40.
Latapy, who joined the Bairns five years ago, is contracted to the club until 2009.
