1247: The home side have been rather blunt in attack so far and shaky at the back. Rangers look really up for this one.
1244: Another scare for United. Pedro Mendes pounces on a poor kick-out from Lukasz Zaluska and sends Kris Boyd scampering towards goal. However, Paul Dixon gets back to divert the ball narrowly wide of his own goal, with the keeper stuck in no man's land.
1240: GOAL! Dundee Utd 0-1 Rangers
A clever dummy from Steven Davis allows Kris Boyd to gather on the edge of the penalty area and the striker turns Lee Wilkie expertly to drive a low shot into the net.
That's Boyd's 17th goal of the season and his ninth goal for Rangers against Dundee United.
1239: "United are committing numbers forward and that's allowing Rangers to break on them." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds.
1236: Kenny Miller slips a neat pass through to his strike partner Kris Boyd but the Rangers man takes a heavy touch in the penalty box and the chance is gone.
1234: Rangers are the top scorers in the SPL but United have the meanest home defensive record. The Tangerines have only conceded six league goals at Tannadice.
1232: Dundee United earn the first corner of the match but Rangers keeper Allan McGregor manages to punch it away under pressure.
1230: And we're off... There are a lot of empty seats at Tannadice.
1227: "I think there will be goals and this weather might make for a few mistakes. I'm going for 2-1 Rangers." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds.
1223: "I'm going for a 4-2 victory for Rangers. Dundee Utd to take an early two-goal lead..." FoxForever is predicting another thriller at Tannadice over on My Sport. Join the debate on My Sport
1220: "Tannadice is always a very difficult place to come and the recent games have been very exciting with a lot of goals." Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist on BBC Radio Scotland.
He's right, you know. The last four meetings between the sides have yielded 20 goals.
1218: TEAM NEWS:
Dundee Utd: Zaluska, Kovacevic, Wilkie, Kenneth, Dixon, Flood, Scott Robertson, Gomis, Conway, Daly, Feeney. Subs: McGovern, Dillon, Dods, O'Donovan, David Robertson, Swanson, Shala.
Rangers: McGregor, Whittaker, Broadfoot, Weir, Papac, Davis, Mendes, Ferguson, McCulloch, Miller, Boyd. Subs: Alexander, Novo, Beasley, Dailly, Lafferty, Niguez, Fleck.
1215: More team news. United midfielder Willo Flood is back after a virus and Warren Feeney is recalled up front for the home side. Full line-ups soon.
1213: There's been a lot of rain overnight and the pitch looks rather heavy in patches.
1210: "Walter Smith knows he'll get a real battle from United. He's selected a physical team." BBC Radio Scotland's Chick Young at Tannadice.
1208: "A very tough game in prospect for the Gers, without a doubt. A win at Tannadice would be a major statement of intent." Boogie Bear on My Sport. Join the debate on My Sport
1205: Early team news from Tanandice. Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra has failed a fitness test and it looks like Kirk Broadfoot will move into central defence. Lee McCulloch makes a rare start for the visitors.
1200: Welcome to another busy Saturday of Scottish Premier League action.
The early kick off sees Rangers travel to Tannadice and that promises to be a corker.
The teams shared six goals at Ibrox last month and we had the same 3-3 scoreline when Rangers last went to Tayside on league duty.
A win for the visitors would see them close to within one point of leaders Celtic before Gordon Strachan's men entertain Hearts.
The Jambos have won all five of their SPL matches since Celtic turned them over at Tynecastle on 2 November.
Aberdeen host Falkirk looking for a fourth consecutive home triumph and Inverness go to St Mirren, who stopped the rot of five losses with a win at Falkirk last weekend.
Hibernian, fresh from a fine victory over Celtic, are at home to bottom side Hamilton Accies and that game will be broadcast 'as live' on BBC ALBA from 1930 GMT.
As ever, you can listen to BBC Radio Scotland's coverage of all the games online, and the old-fashioned way on the radio.
