Hull hope to seal Bullard switch

Bullard joined Fulham from Wigan for £2.5m in May 2006

Hull boss Phil Brown says he is optimistic about his chances of signing unsettled Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard in the near future.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage, and Brown said the club had been in talks with the England squad member.

"Hopefully in the next 24 hours we will have another new player in Jimmy Bullard," he said on Friday.

Meanwhile, on-loan defender Kamil Zayatte has signed a three-year deal.

Hull agreed a fee of about £2.5m with Swiss club Young Boys of Berne for the 23-year-old Guinea defender earlier in the season and he has now accepted personal terms on a permanent deal.

And Hull have also agreed a new contract with left-back Andy Dawson.

Bullard had been the subject of a £5m bid from Bolton last week, but the move failed to go through.

The former Wigan midfielder is out of contract at Fulham at the end of the 2009/10 season.

However, Brown insisted "there is still a long way to go" before any deal for Bullard was concluded.
