McGeady available to make return

Aiden McGeady is fit and available for Celtic's Scottish Premier League clash with Dundee United on Saturday, according to manager Gordon Strachan.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder returned to training this week after being suspended for a fortnight and fined two weeks' wages.

It followed a dressing-room bust-up with Strachan after a draw with Hearts.

The manager was in no mood to expand upon the McGeady situation but said: "Everybody who is fit is available."

The reigning champions stretched their lead in the SPL to seven points by beating second-top Rangers 1-0 last Saturday.

It's good to have the wee man back

Strachan said he would be happy to keep the same side but was not ruling McGeady out of his thoughts.

"You don't lose any base fitness over two weeks, so everybody who is in the squad has a chance of being involved," he said.

Barry Robson is hoping McGeady remains at Celtic Park to help them to their fourth Scottish title in a row.

"I hope he does; he is a good player, but you better ask the manager, it has nothing to do with me," said the former Dundee United midfielder.

"But he's a superb talent and I'm sure he will contribute towards the end of the season.

"It's good to have the wee man back."
