Australian Geoff Ogilvy maintained his lead after the second round of the Mercedes Championship in Hawaii.
The former US Open champion carded 68 to edge to 11 under, one shot clear of American DJ Trahan (66) and two ahead of South Africa's Ernie Els (69).
Six players were locked on seven under including US star Anthony Kim and veterans Kenny Perry and Davis Love.
Vijay Singh, winner of last year's FEd Ex Cup rankings, shot a second 73 top remain level par in Kapalua.
