Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson looks poised to join Middlesbrough after the London club accepted a £2m bid for him.
Watson, 23, rejected a new deal to stay with the Eagles last summer but has not yet finalised personal terms with Boro.
Palace boss Neil Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser: "The chairman spoke to Steve Gibson (Boro chairman) and they have agreed a £2m fee.
"It's not a forgone conclusion yet, Ben still has to agree personal terms."
The deal for the former England Under-21 international could include various add-ons.
