WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has revealed that his younger brother Wladimir will fight Britain's David Haye this year.

Wladimir, 32, said plans were still at an early stage and named Chris Arreola as another possible opponent.

Vitali said: "I'm more than sure the fight will be this year, there's a big chance it'll be in England or Germany.

"I want to fight him but so does my brother so we decided the youngest one will fight David Haye."

Vitali, 37, who had announced his retirement in 2005 but reclaimed his WBC title last year, is now preparing for a mandatory defence against Juan Carlos Gomez of Cuba on 21 March.

The elder brother had hoped to fight Haye in London in June, but will instead take on the WBC's number-one ranked challenger in Stuttgart.

He said: "However reluctant I am to hold this fight, the WBC and the World Boxing Organisation decided to make the fight a mandatory defence.

"There is nothing left for me to do than to go ahead with the fight."

The Ukrainian brothers currently hold three of the world heavyweight belts - Wladimir is the IBF and WBO champion, and Vitali holds the WBC crown.

Only WBA champion Nikolai Valuev stands in the way of an unprecedented four-belt family sweep.

Both Klitschkos said they would be ready to fight the Russian, and Valuev himself has appeared to support the idea.

But the brothers claim Valuev's promoters, American Don King and German Wilfried Sauerland, are holding up the chance for one of them to take his title by offering an unacceptable share of the purse.
