Bulgaria will host MotoGP racing from 2012 after the Bulgarian Motorcycle Federation signed a five-year contract with the championship's promoters.

The likely venue will be a new track in the northern town of Dolna Mitropoliya.

"We are highly confident in Bulgaria's ability to host Grands Prix efficiently and safely," said Carmelo Ezpeleta, head of event organisers Dorna.

Bulgaria will host a stage of the World Rally championship in 2010 and is also keen to attract a Formula One race.
